Yes it fits, yes it works, yes the plugs appear to be correct. Just like the factory unit there are no adjustments, so it was good that it worked. Fuel inlet was in a slightly different spot than my original, but not so different it requires new hose. The hoses in the kit don't fit, they are a throw away.

I purchased this 498298 carburetor kit for my Briggs & Stratton engine on a wood splitter, and it worked out perfectly. The carburetor was an exact fit, which made installation straightforward with no modifications needed.What really made this a great purchase is that it came as a complete kit. I mean I took away the surge on my mower just for the extra gasket a have to make it it take 3 on Kawasaki fs600
It was what we needed.
Work great so far as a Yamaha outboard carb replacement. Can’t speak for the longevity yet, but straight out the box, only took a few minor tweaks. Run good at a fraction of the price.
My fiancé installed this Carburetor built by Briggs & Stratton and didn’t have any significant issues during installation with the parts. Our weed eater is up and running.
